Deborah Dearth : Special to Desert Post Weekly : 10.30.09

Audience Reviews

"I was totally absorbed in ADOPT A SAILOR at last night's screening. a lot of passion, love, and hard disciplined creative work went into that film....and it shows. The writing is immaculate and Evered did a wonderful job on his first time out as a director. The cast was excellent. I didn't realize that Peter could be so funny. It ran the gamut of emotions."

"Thank you for inviting us to see the premiere of Adopt A Sailor. Great story. Wonderful dialogue. Both funny and touching. The great acting by Bebe and Peter was expected. The surprise came watching the wonderful performance by Ethan Peck. Inspirational casting. Kudos all around. I can't wait to help spread the buzz about the film (movie)."

"What an amazing film! I am a passionate connoisseur of movies and films. In fact, if you ever see me sitting alone at the Palm D'or theatre in the middles of the day by myself don't tell anyone and don't make fun of me. I haven't been so moved by a film in a along time."

"Let me add my voice to the chorus of cheers to you for a wonderful film!"

"Thank you, thank you!
The movie is WONDERFUL and we at Dezart are so proud to have been a part of it. Thanks so much for including us in your wonderful project."

"We loved it! The acting was so good and the story so interesting, a combination of wit, humor and seething anger. Wow! And we loved the music, too…and the cast and crew that produced the movie. Thank you so much for inviting us; we enjoyed it more than I can tell you!"

"BRAVO! Your film was powerful, thoughtful and charming. In fact, I was actually moved to (a couple) tears, and as such, when a film can evoke such emotions then I'd say you got yourself a real hit. Thanks for inviting me. Thanks for an unforgettable film."

"Greg and I enjoyed ourselves and thought the film was a huge success. We laughed and I even fought back a tear or two (or more!) I'm so happy/excited for you! Cast was excellent. I think Ethan Peck was a pleasant surprise...the accent, his relaxed manner on screen. "

"We absolutely loved the film! It was funny, it was sad, it was thought provoking – all the best elements to a film."

"The movie and acting was perfect. Congratulations!"

"UNBELIEVABLE! Even better than I expected. I can't believe how in 84 minutes I believed that these strangers absolutely loved each other, that there was hope for the marriage. I can't believe I cried that much! Perfect blend of laughter and tears. The performances were phenomenal. Thank you for inviting me. Really enjoyed the Q&A afterwards as well."
